Description

Pods are light green when young, and buff or tan splashed with carmine markings at maturity. Pods are flat, thick, and about 5 inches long. The vigorous dark green plants grow to about 14 – 18 inches in height. Seeds are thick, oval in shape, buff in color with red markings. This bean does best in a cooler climate. Can be used for a snap bean when very young, but pods are stringy with some fiber.  Most popular use is as a green shell bean that is very tasty and compares very favorably with lima beans.
